The Long Winded, Wall-of-Text History of TXDP

TX's Duck Productions, or TXDP for short, began it's multimedia crusade of fun somewhere between 1997 and 2002. In those years, 'TX' as you know him didn't exist, and was known by his real name Tom, studying hard at school in Colchester. During the long summer holidays he had, he would invite some old friends from primary school who had gone to other secondary schools to his house for long days of mucking about and general hilarity.

On one such occasion, when his house contained a dozen like-minded loonies from his primary and secondary schools, Tom had unknowingly allowed the creation of his Duck trademark. This summer his friends had been using the video camera to record the mayhem and games, and some of them thought it would be funny to put the camera in the bottom of the bath tub (empty bath, mind), and point it at a duck-shaped bath toy. It sat there for over twenty minutes, including a five minute period when Tom actually used the bathroom, before he even noticed it was there. The tape survived the summer, and disappeared into the back of a cupboard, to be forgotten for years.

In year nine of secondary school, academic year 1999-2000, Tom and classmates were set a project in Biology. In his typical way, Tom suggested that his group make an informative video instead of a presentation like all the normal people. His group-mates, two close friends Rob and er, Rob, dressed up in various costumes along with Tom, to complete the entertaining yet educational video about Factory Farming. Amongst the mass of tom-foolery, Tom remembered the duck-in-the-bath video, and thought it would be a comical idea to use the image as the logo for an imaginary production company for the project. Et voila! DUCK PRODUCTIONS was born.

Every once in a while since then, Tom thought about making something out of Duck Productions, but nothing ever came about.

At some point in the two years he spent at college, Tom created the image of 'TX' - Tom and his friend signed up to a LAN-gaming centre in Colchester, and were asked to give usernames to use on their system - and in a split second, invented 'TX'- T for Tom, and X... just because it's a cool letter. From then on, Tom used TX as his 'online' and 'showbiz' names. (So that's where TX comes from- a little unwhelming, eh?)

At University in 2004, TX's understanding of websites and HTML had expanded, just in time for another deposit of student loan. He invested in some webspace and created some basic webpages - The foundations of the TXDP website as it is today.

TXDP has been built upon year on year to become better and better, and to spread the laughter further and further. The videos that have been uploaded to YouTube in the name of TX's Duck Productions have been viewed over a quarter of a million times, and we're intent on increasing that number as sharply as possible, with your continued support.

TX's Top Tip

Never EVER choose gaming over a girlfriend's offer of sexy time. I did that once, and eventually we split up... coincidence? I don't think so.
Yeah, seriously don't do that.

Where To Find TX

Most of the time TX spends online is spent playing Team Fortress 2 on UKMD servers. He's probably playing the Badwater 24/7 server right this minute...
